Dearest Dorise, Bianca, Malaika, Claudia and Robin

The children on our Visual Literacy Project in Kylemore have painted a
number of "Angel" Christmas Cards --- this is just one of them!

We thought it appropriate that you should be awarded 'Angel" status for your generosity and the support you have given to the children that are receiving a free muffin daily !!

Our mission is to have 1000 undernourished little ones receive a fortified
muffin daily in 2009. Your contribution is helping us to realize this dream.

On behalf of all of us at Imbali Western Cape may we say thank you for
walking this road with us, you have no idea how very much it means in this
poverty stricken community.

May we take this opportunity to wish you a Peaceful, Healthy and Blessed
2009 and thank you for caring!

Dr. Jan Hill    02 Februar 2009 17:25 | Somerset West, South Africa

Hello again Dorise

Following our sharing of the photos today, I would just like you to convey the gratitude of Stellenbosch Hospital for the large bags of clothes and toys which members of the German community donated via yourself to the disadvantaged children / patients using the hospital.

It was an absolute pleasure for the staff and I too share in the joy which the children and the parents experienced when they received the gifts, especially as this was a pre-Christmas event. Only one little fellow was not keen on having his photo taken with his new attire! He nevertheless was captured in colour together with his mother.

I trust that you will forward the photos and this e-mail to those concerned with our heartfelt thanks. I have retired from the hospital, as you know, but am still involved with medical care to a sector of the uninsured community at the local hospital ( Helderberg Hospital ). Should you require any further assistance with distribution of donations, as in the past, I would be very willing to assist again, perhaps to Helderberg Hospital next time..

With kind regards

Jan Hill

Frank`s Mountain

I'm in shock. I'm so sorry and sad. I simply cannot imagine Frank being gone.

What a comfort to hear that you have no regrets. He surely packed more into one life than ten other men combined. You must miss him so terribly but I'm grateful that one of you were spared. Losing 2 parents at once is more than any child should bear.

When I asked why Frank had his own mountain I just assumed that Frank had BOUGHT his own mountain. This wouldn't have surprised me at all! But to hear that he is gone is just so sad and unexpected.

You look and sound like you are coping well and haven't lost your sense of humour.

Well, I am still reeling from the news but it is really nice to be in touch again. I'm just sorry that I can't say hi to Frank after all these years!

Lots of love,

Flitchy

Those who walk towards the sun, leave the shadows behind.
