Hettlich's History 2009

Another year has passed and we have been missing Frank for almost three years now. Once again we approached and handled another year with courage and mostly good humour. With this attitude we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the practice in Kleve.

Malaika has been the lead for the practice for the last two years and she does so very well. She has Papa’s clinical acumen and talent and his caring attitude towards her patients. Our friend Dieter is available for any difficult procedure and has been a great help indeed. Malaika successfully trained in the area of parodontology and finished her clinical hypnosis training.

Bianca is enjoying her first home in Columbus, Ohio. In May she found and purchased her „Villa Kunterbunt“ (like the one Pippi Longstocking lives in...) and we all renovated it together with much laughter and joy. Recently a container full of nice things from Kleve arrived and she now is fully furnished with sofas and memories.

A few weeks ago, Bianca and Malaika spent three weeks trekking in the Annapurna Region in Nepal. They crossed one of the highest passes in the world – the Thorong-La-Pass (5416m); quite an achievement.

Claudia and Robin still live in Manchester. Claudia finished her specialist training in London in the spring of this year and is now a fully fledged consultant. She still has to travel between London and Manchester. The next year will bring decisions as to where they will be living and working the next few years. After a lovely holiday in South Africa, they came to Kleve for a Nikolaus and Christmas Market visit. Both are currently snowed in in Manchester and enjoying a white Christmas.

Dorise had an eventful year. South Africa/USA/Germany – always on the road (or in the air). The highlights were a train journey from Dar es Salam to Cape Town (ca. 6000km), the Whale Train in South Africa and – last but not least – the fabulous Truck Drive through many European countries.Always according to Frank’s motto: „Today is the day to be appreciated“, she really enjoys any and every new experience.

From Manchester and Columbus, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2010. It would be lovely if we were to meet again in 2010.

Your Hettlich Family
